The brief was simple: "Only a Porsche can beat a Porsche." Every year, Porsche engineers compete with themselves to top the previous year's 911. We imagined that an athlete at the top of their game is no different. When you're as good as Porsche or Muhammad Ali, your biggest competition is yourself.

Porsche works a few years ahead on every concept. So by the time they decided to shoot this spot, I was off in Boston, working at Hill Holliday. Then I got an email from Rick Standley, the guy I wrote this spot with, from somewhere in Europe, saying they were in the middle of shooting it. Marshall Ross, the CCO of Cramer-Krasselt, says it should be on my reel. So here it is. The only difference? We wanted Jack White to play guitar solos against Jack White. Hey, you can't have everything.
